• NO NAMES on the front of the paper. Name on back of the paper only. Put your name on the reverse side of the last page ONLY.
• Organizational site should be clarified on the cover page.
• Check spelling and grammar and proofread carefully. Do not present a first draft. I should see an evidently edited version.

DETAILS:

In this description, you are accomplishing at least four things:

First, you are presenting me with the results of your initial entry into the organization as a researcher. In this case, your description should reflect your observations of the organization from the perspective of "organizational researcher" rather than "member" (if you're a member).

Second, your description is a reflection of your ability to write clearly and precisely. In a sense, you are presenting an example of your scholarly work. You should take this description seriously, then, because it is going to a crucial audience and judge of your scholarship (me).

Third, you are justifying your choice of organization to study, and as such, your description should be insightful, in-depth. You should strive to make this one page description "rich with possibilities."

Finally, you are demonstrating to me that you are actively engaged in the organization you chose as the site of your semester project. This description needs to be based on your direct observations since you chose this topic. In other words, it is not simply a description of the site from secondary sources or your memory.
